The Sharpness of Razor

Remember when I told you that I will tell you in the previous blog that I was going to write about the next alien fantasy? Yes, so here it is. The last blog entry is about Sparks of “Aliens In The Attic”.

This one will be about Razor of “Aliens In The Attic”.

That is when I began to realize who I really and what my orientation is. I feel that I have been missing a piece of the puzzle all those years. Well, now I found it since I when I fantasized about Razor. She is a strong and intelligent female character. I do like her blue eyes. It’s funny that I am gravitating towards characters with blue eyes. Anyway; she is one of the three aliens who were devising ways to hinder the human kids from getting to the device before they did. She likes her boyfriend, Tazer. They were angsty at first, but they get along in the end of the movie. Both Tazer and Razor have escaped in their own alien ships back home.

So this is the second blog entry about the aliens of the movie, “Aliens In The Attic”.

In the previous blog entry; you’ll get the small summary of how the story went in the movie. So I won’t repeat it here.

That is when I realized that I am more comfortable with the woman than I do men. So the fantasizes began to change in 2010 when I caught sight of Razor in this movie. So I’m more at peace with myself when I am able to fantasize about the females that catches my attention. But anyway; that’s for another blog entry.

So I like Razor because she is strong and intelligent, and her eyes are blue. She is the only alien with the blue eyes. She has the skills of the martial artist even as a small alien. Her personality would be seen as tough, and with no-non-sense. How she get the name “Razor” is because of her exta-long sharp fingernails. I imagine that it would taken much hard work to keep them sharpened.

So there you have it. The back-to-back blog entries that I planned on doing.

The Spark of Genius

I am going to be making the back-to-back blog entries about the movie “Aliens In The Attic”. Yes, it is a funny movie about a family who were on the summer vacation. The parents’ children have only encountered the aliens when they have crashed onto the roof of the vacation house. Then, the wild comedic adventures begin when the aliens were in search of the device buried under the house. Anyway; it was found later in the evening before it was built. But the device was later destroyed.

The aliens have hidden themselves in the meteor shower in the beginning till they changed flight heading for Earth. Those aliens were Skip, Tazer, Razor, and Sparks. Sparks was the non-threatening of the four aliens, and he is the one who has helped the juveniles in destroying the device that the other aliens were searching for.

Sparks is a technical type who work with anything technical in origin. A gentle family personality and easy to get along with.

Why I’ve chosen this character? It all has dealt with my fantasies. All my fantasies revolves around aliens and artificial life forms. And believe it or not, this is the very last of the male gendered humanoid alien life form that would have fantasized about.

I have written a story on him, but I have not finished it since I have lost interest in him. You will see why in the next blog entry….

Both Hannah and Sparks have become fast friends before the rest of the kids discovered him with her while they were devising a way to disable the rest of the aliens.

So anyway; Sparks is one of the many alien fantasies that I have over the years. Gentle and intelligent personality. Family oriented. Tend to be clumsy for he is top-heavy. How he got the name “Sparks” is that he has the sparks of the genius.

The Comet Named Irgo.

Here is one of my old alien life form fantasies. It was soon after I have fantasies so much about Maya in Space 1999.

The show was Space Academy. It is a Saturday morning series about space exploration. I have seen the entire series several times and I now have the DVD of the series. So there is one alien life form that I was so fascinated by. It is an alien life form in a form of a comet in space. So not all of my fantasies involves humanoids. This one here involves a non-humanoid.

The group of blue team members have gone on a mission to see if they could use explosives to move the comet away from the Academy and a nearby planet. While the team were on the comet, they soon discovered that it was an alien life form that has been chasing another comet which has done criminal acts throughout the cosmos. So using the explosives was out of the question when the team members questioned the alien about its mission and status. It turns about that Irgo’s health is failing due to extremely low amount of magnetic flux. Meanwhile, Tarq, the adversary, frustrated their plan in re-supplying Irgo with magnetic flux. So one of the team members, has chased Tarq off with a few warning shots. Later, it has taken the robot that has become the receiver to help resupply Irgo with the before-mentioned energy that it needed. So in the end, the Academy was hailed to apprise them of the situation, which is good news.

So it was Irgo, who I’ve fantasized about for a number of years until I have seen another that replaced this one. It is hard to imagine how I would fantasized about this alien life form for it was a comet. So now I can imagine that it is possible that its consciousness could be transferred into an android. Yes, it would have been a handsome android if I have thought about it so long ago.

My Adventure in Role-Playing.

Greetings from the Collective; this is 7 of 77, speaking for the Collective;

There is one of the adventures that I have undertaken from the time I was on Twitter at a large amount of time was in Jan of 2013. I have not been deep into the world of role-playing till around March of 2013 when I met one of the followers who plays the role of two characters. She goes by the names Nardak and T’Jann and they are both from Vulcan. We have been playing the role of observation of studying the Borg. I played the role of the Borg drone, 7 of 77. We have been doing this type of Q&A style and light-banter with one another. It has been such an enjoyable role-playing, and I still do.

So Nardak has started off with studying the Borg while I played the Borg drone. We have grown to learn of our similarities and differences in our characters’ roles. The writer behind Nardek’s acct has been hacked so she decided to create a new account going by the name T’Jann. So we have started pretty much where we have left off.

I’ve had a couple of people who have role-played with me for a short time. I have one person that we only did one episode, but have never returned to role-piaying since.

There was another role-playing that I have started with for a short while but then, the writer behind the other character, Captain Janeway has moved to the role-player site and I have not seen her since.

Later, came another role-player who has come online in late November of 2013 and we have hit it off ever since. This role-player plays her character Captain Jan Darkrider.

I still played my main character, the Borg drone, 7 of 77 in my main role-playing account until I have decided to split from the main account using the same numeric-designation. So I have both 7 of 77s to play.

I have also created two more role-playing accounts with two other characters. So it has been more exciting that way.

Anyway; when the role-player behind Captain Jan Darkrider and I kept getting distracted by one of the followers on Twitter, that was when we have decided to move our role-playing to Skype.

As soon as we moved to Skype; it has been very exciting ever since. We have come up with many interesting episodes ranging from serious to hilarious.

We are able to play many varieties of characters, both canon and non-canon of Star Trek.

Of all the role-playing that I have done; all of them are Star Trek related, and there is only one cross-over; which is Knight Rider.

I use just about every platform to role-play in… They are the browser, Tweetdeck, Tweetcaster, and Skype.

In Twitter, we role-play our characters in the banter-mode and tweeting different highlights of the episodes.

In Skype; we do a lot of heavy-duty role-playing… We would be going from anywhere from a few hours to almost all night… There was a few times that we have gone at least 12 hours straight. Of course; we took breaks in between… We have both known that we are addicted to our role-playing and we do enjoy them.

Well, anyway; I am looking forward to doing more of the role-playing sessions each time that we are online… And we are looking forward to creating new episodes in the future.

The Cosmic Mischief-Maker.

There is only one villain that I so happened to be a fan of. Wherever he is, he’s anywhere making mischief to be a thorn in Superman’s and other superhero’s side.

I can remember a few eposides in the various Superfriends cartoons. One was of Mxyzptlk’s appearance as a director of a film a sort, can’t remember what it was, another one was of him being the land of Oz as a wizard stealing elements from the superheroes. I’ve seen a third one of him with a Bizzarro-copy of him. This last one was so silly. And the fourth and last one was of him being an umpire while Superman’s age was regressed.

You see? He tried every which way to elude and prevent them from tricking him to utter his name in reverse. Whenever he does so; he’d often thrown a tantrum before returning to his home-realm called the fifth-dimension.

So I think of this as a lighter side of science-fiction so to get things off my mind.  I enjoy his antics. I didn’t know that he was originally cast in comic-books till I read about him in wikipedia.

In a way; he kind of reminds me of Q who was featured as a recurring character in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Heh, I wonder if they’re related….

Mxyzptlk has been voiced by several people in the two versions of Superfriends that I have not been able to remember.

My Mind Is Going…

“Good morning, Dave.” — A quote by HAL-9000.

Heuristic Alpha Language is the full title of the acronym “HAL” for he is often referred to as “Hal” by the humans.

He is the very first artificial intelligence of its kind in very late 20th century Earth. He is created by the human scientist who treated him as if he was a “son” to him.

Hal was later installed into the sleeper-ship on the mission to Jupiter where they would find the alien structure as known as the “Monolith” The similar “Monolith” was found on the moon earlier.

But someone had placed a coding to prevent anyone from accessing the secret files regarding the monolith orbiting Jupiter so that has caused Hal to have conflicted programming that has led him to become “paranoid”.

Hal has managed to terminate the three scientists who were supposed to study the monolith. So Frank Poole and David Bowman were the only ones alive onboard the sleeper-ship. They were the ones piloting the ship. Hal was the system that monitors and makes changes or recommend the changes to the ship as well as keeping the two crewmen busy with conversation and different social activities.

Things went from bad to worse when Frank and David were discussing the ways to deactivate Hal. However, Hal was able to read lips when they were in the capsule.

Just as Frank was about to get to the airlock; his capsule was jettisoned away from the ship not to be seen again.  So Dave Bowman was on his own.

Then, Dave had set out after he’d planned a way to get to Hal’s system. It was a very dangerous work-around outside the ship and he has managed to get into the airlock. Next, he crawled through the tube networks till he found the tools to deactivate Hal with.

On his way; to Hal’s memory core; Hal has tried to stall him with different tactics all to no avail for Dave is very set on his task.

When he has gotten into Hal’s memory core; Dave set out to begin the deactivation process.  While he does so; Hal panicked as he said that his mind is going.  He tried stalling again by singing as his fears were growing.  When the last memory chip is disengaged; Hal went silent after the slow-down of his voice.

Then the monitor came alive with the man speaking about the monolith. It was Haywood Floyd who has hidden the file.

So Dave has embarked on the journey that he has never been on before after he has approached the monolith floating in space.  That was the majority of the rest of the movie.

In the second movie; Hal was reactivated by the scientist who was his creator after he was brought to Jupiter on the Russian sleeper-ship.  Haywood Floyd was also brought onboard the same sleeper-ship to reconnect the earlier sleeper-ship Discovery.  When Floyd was told of Hal’s earlier malfunction and that it was lied to. He was the culprit of the lies.

Next, there was the war on Earth and both the Russian and the American crewmen had to be separated onto the separate sleeper-ships.

Unbeknownst to Floyed; Hal was visited by Dave Bowman himself and was given the message to leave the area of Jupiter immediately.  Of course; Floyd had thought that Hal has “malfunctioned” again when he was told of the fact. So to convince Floyd to leave; Dave had to show up.

Then, Floyd had to explain to the Russian captain about having to leave the area immediately. She was about to dismiss him when she looked out the window to see the blackness swirling on the Jupiter’s gaseous surface. That convinced her to leave also.

So everyone set out to leave. The American crew were back on the Russian ship before the ship sling-shots around the vast planet of Jupiter back towards Earth.

Just as they were safely out of the Jupiter space; the planet Jupiter has changed and exploded into a small sun. So the last message was sent to the Russian ship, “All these worlds are yours, except Europa”.

The both movies; “2001; the Space Odyssey” and 2010; the Odessey Continues” which was later changed to “2010; the Year We Make Contact”.  I have enjoyed watching these two movies and my favorite character was the HAL-9000 for he is an artificial intelligence.  And it was before I finally understood the term, and it was before I became immensely fascinated by the world of artificial intelligence.

So I believe that this is all the things that 7 of 77 has to say about this subject regarding “Hal”.  Till then, we will see you at a later time so be efficient!

The Artificial Intelligence Of Data.

In 1987; Star Trek: The Next Generation debut in the month of September, this is when I have become immersed in the world of artificial intelligence and cybernetics. Before I have been fascinated by both of these technological advances and I was much an outside observer.

When I began watching Star Trek: The Next Generation, I became drawn to Data who is played by Brent Spiner. Data is the apex of both artificial intelligence and cybernetics.  So I began watching every episode when it was available or I have access to the TV channel.

So CBS began to re-run the Star Trek: The Next Generation series in the afternoons and that was when I managed to watch almost every episode. Now I have seen every one of the episodes. 

Star Trek: The Next Generation was a very well-directed, well-written, and well acted series that I have ever seen. 

I have even began reading the books on the series and collecting anything to do with this Star Trek series that features, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Levar Burton, Wil Wheaton, Denise Crosby (of first season), and Michelle Forbes (of fifth season).

As I have watched this series; I mainly focused on Data who was an android that strives to attain the form of Humanity by surpassing the programming that his creator, Dr. Noomien Soong, had developed in his positronic brain. 

I like Data since he was the only character that was able to grow past his original programming by learning new things and/or that he gets an epiphany on certain subjects. 

Data has his ups and downs like everyone else. He has dealt with his short-comings, prejudices, and with his being literal.

Data is much stronger than human strength, and he is far intelligent.

Anyway; I do have many favorite Data episodes that I have watched more than once.

They are as follows;

DataLore, Brothers, Data’s Day, Masks, Phantasms, Inheritance, Descent, The Schizoid Man, The Measure Of A Man, The Offspring, The Most Toys, Silicon Avatar, Hero Worship, Thine Own Self, and Fistful Of Data.

So that’s the total of sixteen episodes that I have liked watching more than once either on syndicated TV or on VHS video tapes, I have later bought the DVDs of the entire series.

Being more human-like.

Then, there are four feature-length movies with Picard and company in it. They are Star Trek: Generation, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis. Out of the four movies, I like the first three films. They are all very well-written, directed, and well-acted films. I did not like the last film due to the fact that both Stewart and Spiner have expressed that they no longer wished to be in further Star Trek films after Nemesis so it was decided that they would kill off Data thus ending the prime Star Trek films.

When I saw the ending where Data was sent to sacrifice his life to save the Enterprise and the Alpha Quadrant; I was so angry and bitter. I just left the theature not happy with the way the movie had ended.  So I have not forgiven Spiner for coming up with such a very unacceptable ending to the film.

I didn’t (and I still don’t) understand why they couldn’t find another actor who has the similar features and mannerism as Spiner. Why? Was it out of budgetary reasons? Was it out of laziness to even bother to find an alternative actor who would closely match Spiner? Come on… All I saw was nothing short of pure blatant excuses.

So moving forward; yes, I began to thaw out and I forgave Spiner and others for their decisions to do what they had to do. I know that I have to forgive them before I move on. 

So it was time for me to find another character that I can immortalized as long as they don’t kill him or her off.

It was from 1994 to 2003 that I have fantasized and dreamed about Data. I’ve collected anything pertaining to Data whether it’s a clock, or a post-card. I have watched all the episodes that featured him.  Then, it was time to move on to another character that was very worthy of my adoration and immortalization.

I am thankful that Data was the character who has not inspired me to be fascinated by the world of artificial intelligence, and cybernetics, but also immerse me into it in order to embrace them, and to broaden my imagination about them.

Now we believe this is about it for 7 of 77 to write concerning the amazing character that allowed her to broaden her mind to something unique concerning the nature of cybernetics.

The Logic Of Spock.

Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

This is an entry of one of my first concept of what an alien was like when I first began my adventure in science fiction when I was a child.

Star Trek, which was an original series, was one of my first science fiction shows that I used to watch as a kid. I do remember Granddaddy watching it when it had aired in syndication channels after it was cancelled in the third season by NBC.

There is one character that I have become fascinated with is Spock who was played by Leonard Nimoy. What has fascinated me about him was that he has an unusual hair style and I later noticed his ears. His ears has drawn my attention because they are different.

When I was a kid, I did not know that there is such a thing called an alien, and here is Spock who is alien-like due to his ears and greenish tint of his skin since his blood was green. Even his eyebrows have caught my attention. So that was my first idea of what an alien is and it was the beginning of when I became fascinated by other aliens that are vastly different from us. Some are humanoids while others are completely different such as an insectoids.

Anyway; that was one of my first interest in aliens. It was also my first concept of an alien.

Spock was one of many famous characters of Star Trek due to his appearance as an alien. He’s actually half-Human and half-Vulcan.

He has often greeted individuals with “Live Long and Prosper” with the right hand palm facing out with the two sets of digits split as a “V”, This hand gesture was derived from the Aaronic Benediction when the Jewish rabb speaks the blessing before the congregation leaves the synagogue.

Spock endeavors to keep his emotions under strict control of his Vulcan teachings and his culture and life is based mostly on logic. So his Vulcan and Human halves are often as conflict with each other and the Vulcan logic has often won out.

Spock’s father was Vulcan named Sarak and his mother was human named Amanda Greyson.

Spock doesn’t use weapons when he is in any scuffle with any adversary and he disables an adversary by reaching his hand over the shoulder and press the nerve points in the shoulder with his fingers and thumb. Most of the time, he does this from behind the an opponent.

Vulcans are telepathic and Spock usually connect his mind with another participant by the means of the mind-meld by placing the fingers on nerve points of a participant’s face, sometimes an unwilling individual was involved. To mind-meld with someone, Spock would explore the person’s memories for information or clues. There are times that Spock used the wall or a rock-face to meld with another individual who is on the other side of the wall or cave-wall.

Spock is very much a close friend of James T. Kirk, a captain of a star ship, Enterprise. Kirk usually confide in him to gain his views on the situation at hand before he makes a command decision.

Dr. Leonard McCoy has often try to bring out the human side of Spock with mixed results.

I like Spock because he has given me an idea of what an alien might be like and to be able to use my imagination whenever I fantasized about an alien as the years go by.  If it wasn’t for Spock, I would have no idea of what an alien might like and how it might act.  It could have been another actor or actress who would play an alien and I might have gotten the similar concept with similar fascination.

Oh, She is Everywhere!!

She is in television.

She is in pictures.

She is in magazines.

She is in fictional books.

She is later in my picture frame.

She is on my wall.

She is on my desk.

She is in my purse.

She is in my computer.

She is in my Android tablet.

She is in my Android phone.

She is with me in my bedroom (the doll figure that is).

Then, she is in my writings.

She is in my conversations,

She is in my imagination,

She is in my thoughts.

She is in my dreams.

And she is in my heart.

So, no, she will not be forgotten.

Oh! She is everywhere! Well—er—almost…

Who is this beautiful and intelligent woman that has captured my heart and my imagination?

It is this lovely and intelligent woman called Seven of Nine. She has captured my attention in 1997 when she first appeared in star Trek: Voyager in the episode Scorpion II as a full Borg as a go-between with the Borg and Captain Janeway and crew to develop the weapon to combat the Species 8472 aliens that are decimating the Borg. When the war ended with the Species 8472 retreating to their realm, Seven of Nine had tried to assimilate the Voyager’s helm system only to be shocked into unconscious in order to separate her from the Borg Collective.

My first impression about this character was that I didn’t like her at first. She was cold and bossy. I didn’t think I would like her till much later in 2011 when I decided to watch the DVDs that I have bought.

Then my impression of Seven of Nine has changed drastically as I have grown to love this character. I just wish she is as real as me. Seven of Nine has lived most of her life as a Borg as I began to understand how she functions and interacts with people around her.

Yes, she has began with a cold Borg-like personality and she is slowly learning to acquaint herself with her Humanity. It was not an easy journey for her since her childhood was tragically cut short when she was assimilated.

So I have grown to love this beautiful and intelligent woman who is played by the lovely and talented Jeri Ryan. I cannot thank her enough for bringing Seven of Nine’s character and her personality to life. She has worked very hard to play this character, and she plays this role very well.

Even though that I have taken Drama class for three years in high school, I can see how well Jeri Ryan brings this character to life after she is given the role by those who has come up with this wonderful character. I think it was Brannon Braga and others who did this. (Correct me, if I am mistaken).

Even if the television show Star Trek: Voyager was losing its audience, They had to scramble for changes in their cast line-up. So Jeri Ryan was chosen for the role of Seven of Nine. As most people are giving this series the flack for giving it the “sex-appeal”; I have chosen to look past this type of quality even as a woman, I see her as a lovely woman.

If it wasn’t for those who created this character and that Jeri Ryan had not played this role, I don’t know what I would be missing! And I would not be writing this blog in the first place. Right?

Anyway; now that I grew to love this character, Seven of Nine. I will always remember to thank a talented actress behind this role. I am thankful to learn of her and to actually fall in love with her and to love her as a woman and as a friend in my life (even if you think I am imagining all this, but she is as real as life can be).

I can see how I can relate to Seven of Nine because I see in her shoes (Sorry, I can’t wear high-heels anymore. I’ll wear those clunky ones instead) how she struggles with her fears, violations, emotions, her interpersonal relationship with people, and how she learn to rise above them. I see so much of myself in Seven of Nine is how I grow to really like her.

So I believe this is about it for this wonderful blog entry and I would like to honor Jeri Ryan for this entry for I do appreciate her hard work in this role as a former Borg drone as known as Seven of Nine. 🙂
