How Grandma Penny and I went to the Shop-N-Go store to get some pickled vegetables years ago. And our likes for 7-Up.
Years ago; when I lived in Tampa, Florida. It’s in the late 70’s When there used to be a convenience store called Shop-N-Go on the corner of Erlich Road and another road. I forgot what it is now. That’s how long ago it was.
Every once in a while Grandma Penny used to take me and Melissa to that store. Grandma and I often ordered pickled vegetables from the jar that was on the counter. We used to enjoyed the pickled treats of carrots, celeries, and a few other vegetables. Too bad that they didn’t have pickled okras. Oh, they’re sooooo good.
I missed those ventures to the local store where we could buy those pickled vegetables and sometimes 7-Ups
This is something to reminisce about when it comes to going to stores and buying unusual stuffs there. I remembered Grandma and I enjoying the cool treat on the hot sunny days.
Nowadays; you don’t see those big jars of those pickled concoctions on the store counter anymore. Most stores gave way to franchises and popular merchandises like sodas, candies, chips, and whatever comes to mind nowadays, but no pickled food jars anywhere.
So when is the last time you ever see that big jar of pickled foodstuffs like vegetables or meats. Well, the only pickled foodstuffs are the ones mass-produced and are now in grocery stores. They’re not as good as the home-made pickled treats that we’ve remembered.
Well, anyway; that’s something to reminisce about and I enjoyed the fond memories of the trips to the local store in Tampa with Grandma Penny. 🙂 So I guess that’s it for now. I’ll see you later on. 🙂
