33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Adonai, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
Have you ever feed the hungry? Have you visited the hospital patient? Bring clothing to the needy? Ministered to the prison inmate? Or even take in the homeless person? These are the questions that Yeshua would asked when we all come to meet Him in Heaven.
What do think when you read this Bible passage? I think of many things when I’m reading this passage from God’s Word. Not very many people realize that they are welcoming Yeshua when they feed the hungry, give the water to those who are thirsty, bring clothe to those who need clothing, take in the homeless person, visit the patient in the hospital, or the shut-ins who are lonely, and the prison inmate. There is a lot to be said about this passage.
I can tell you that God was teaching me about this passage first hand when a friend called me on the phone one day and he was in tears wondering where he could go next. I told him, “Come on over and bring your stuffs.” He did so the next day after a doctor’s appointment. He was besides himself when he has called me on my cell phone while Ken and I were at the sandwich place in Deland, Florida. You see? He has been homeless for several long months, and I kept in contact via the cell phone.
It’s amazing how I have done all those in Matthew 25:33-40. I’ve welcomed this man in Yeshua’s Name. I have fed, and sheltered him. I have visited him when he was sick. We gave him several coats to wear on his way up north when he’s ready to go up north. You see? He was very grateful when we have come to help him get out of the situation that he was on. I’m sure that he has thanked God for this blessing.
He didn’t want to accept our help at first, but we have told him, “What would Yeshua do?” “What would Jesus have us do when we see Him in others.” Then, he understood clearly. Yeshua said, “Do unto others as you have them done to you.” Yeshua also said that whoever welcomes him in His Name welcomes Him.
To me; that is a huge lesson learned from my standpoint. I have learned so much about this passage while this man stayed with us for the time being before he would get back on his feet. He has finally got his disability checks and now things are looking up for him. Praise YHVH that the He has blessed us through other people.
Lending the helping when needed is important when receiving the blessings from God. To me; I am so humbled by this experience. No, I’m not letting “Pride” get in the way of things, but I know that God will reward those that heeded and obeyed His Torah as we blessed Him.
Shalom, may YHVH bless you.
